Odds vs Pick6 multipliers vs DFS salaries
Three DraftKings numbers with three different meanings: American prices, standings multipliers and DFS salaries, and what each can support.
Editorial review: · Not a live coverage report
Three numbers that do not convert
The API returns three kinds of number from three products. An American price comes from a sportsbook market. A standings multiplier comes from a Pick6 selection. A salary comes from a DFS draftable. They sit in separate datasets because they answer separate questions, and no formula in this API turns one into another.

American prices on sportsbook rows
As of 2026-11-03, native sportsbook scopes cover New York NFL, NHL, college basketball and college football game lines and New York NHL Shots on Goal, points, assists, saves, goalscorers, power-play points and first-period shots. Read snapshots and streamed changes through the sportsbook endpoints. ESPN-attributed DraftKings moneyline, spread and total observations are also available across eight leagues. Current scope inventory is listed at /api/v1/sportsbook/scopes. A row has market, side, line, american and decimal. A moneyline has a null line. A spread has a signed line for home or away. A total has over or under with the source total.
curl --fail-with-body "https://draftkingsapi.com/api/v1/odds?sport=NBA&market=total&limit=5" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $DRAFTKINGS_API_KEY"Arithmetic on these prices is ordinary price arithmetic, and it stays within one recorded quotation. It does not show that the quotation was available when you read it. Check event_status, stale and observed_at first. The full row guide is on the sportsbook dataset page.
Standings multipliers on Pick6 rows
Pick6 rows carry standings multipliers such as 1.5x. A standings multiplier is not decimal odds, a probability or an established entry payout. Do not invert one to estimate a chance of hitting, and do not compare one with a sportsbook decimal price as if they shared a scale.
curl --fail-with-body "https://draftkingsapi.com/api/v1/pick6/projections?sport=NHL&stat=Shots%20on%20Goal&limit=5" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $DRAFTKINGS_API_KEY"A multiplier belongs to one selection. Rows in the same market can offer a higher target with a much larger multiplier, so a row is a point on a menu and not the single line for that player. Read target_value and the selections array together.
formatted_standings_multiplier is the display string, such as 8.2x. Use the numeric field for storage and sorting. A null is unknown, not zero.
Read selections independently
Each market row can carry several explicit selections with side-specific multipliers. A one-sided source row stays one-sided. Do not synthesize the missing side, assume symmetric multipliers or treat a null as zero.
Captures on 2026-11-03 showed the side labels More, Less and Yes. Many rows list More alone, some list More and Less, and yes/no style stats list Yes alone. Treat the set as observed rather than closed, and keep an unrecognized label instead of dropping the row.

}Paused, live and missing labels
is_paused marks paused entries. They keep their selections for inspection and must not be treated as selectable. is_live marks an in-progress market, and live_stat_value with live_stat_updated_at is a stat clock, not the offer clock.
These observations do not establish an entry payout, promotion eligibility or a customer-specific offer. period and promotion fields are often null, and null stays unknown. Selected category captures are a partial view of Pick6, and retained rows can be stale, so presence is not proof of current selectability.
DFS salaries on draftable rows
data.salary is what a draftable costs against a DFS salary cap in that draft group. One athlete can have several draftables in one slate, each at its own salary, so the number describes a roster slot and not a player's value in general. data.draftStatAttributes can hold source attributes such as FPPG, keyed by numeric id.

curl --fail-with-body "https://draftkingsapi.com/api/v1/dfs/players?sport=NFL&slate_id=YOUR_SLATE_ID&limit=25" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $DRAFTKINGS_API_KEY"Salaries from different slates are not directly comparable because each draft group is its own contest format. Details are on the DFS dataset page.
Showing them side by side
You can display the three together if each keeps its label. The comparison feed example puts Pick6 rows next to DFS draftables and sportsbook mainlines for one sport and reports rows it could not match. It never computes a mismatch, an edge or a pick, because the data does not support one.
python3 comparison-feed.py --sport NFL --stat "Receiving Yards" --max-requests 12Sportsbook rows have no player props today, so a Pick6 receiving yards row has no sportsbook counterpart in this API. Mainlines appear as game context only. For player identity across datasets, read matching players across datasets.

Questions
Can I convert a Pick6 multiplier to an implied probability?
No. A standings multiplier is not decimal odds and the observations do not establish how it maps to a payout or a chance of hitting. Any probability derived from it would be your own assumption, not a property of the data.
Why do some Pick6 rows have only a More selection?
The source listed only that side for that row. The API retains exactly what was observed. Do not add a Less side or assume one exists at the same multiplier.
Is a DFS salary comparable to a sportsbook line?
No. A salary is a roster cost inside one draft group. It does not state a probability or an expected stat, and it is not on the same scale as a price or a target value.
Does a stored American price mean I can get that price now?
No. Sportsbook rows are stored observations with a capture clock. The venue update time is unknown, and rows report stale after 15 minutes without a fresh observation.
