PROVIDER COMPARISON

ParlayAPI vs DraftKings API

ParlayAPI publishes credit plans and multi-book coverage with long claimed history. This API is DraftKings-only with DFS salaries. A sourced, dated comparison.

Editorial review: · Not a live coverage report

The short version

ParlayAPI is a broad, self-serve odds API with published credit plans. It lists both draftkings and pick6 bookmaker keys, offers WebSocket and SSE streams on higher tiers, and claims history back to 2005. Its stated history and multi-book reach are far larger than this service's. This service is DraftKings-only and adds DFS salaries, contests and slates, which we did not find on ParlayAPI's fetched pages.

Where ParlayAPI is stronger

On its stated scope and prices, ParlayAPI is ahead on several points.

  • Far more volume per dollar at published list prices, though credits and requests are not the same unit.
  • Native sportsbook props and closing lines as claimed products, where this service has only narrow native scopes.
  • Long stated history. Ours began around 2026-11-03.
  • Multi-book coverage and broader WebSocket delivery.

Where this API may fit better

This service suits work that centers on DraftKings' own DFS and Pick6 records.

  • DFS contests, slates and roster-slot salaries, which we did not find on ParlayAPI's fetched pages.
  • A flat one-call, one-request billing unit that needs no credit arithmetic.
  • Row-level capture clocks, source hashes and provenance, with unknown venue clocks left null.
  • Signed webhooks for Pick6 changes. The ParlayAPI pages we read describe streams, not webhooks.

Read the credit math

ParlayAPI's costs vary by call, and its x-requests-last header reports the charge. Out of credits returns HTTP 403 OUT_OF_USAGE_CREDITS, with no automatic overage billing. Estimate your own workload by market, region and history use before comparing list prices. Here each authenticated call counts as one request, including empty results.

Test both on the same market

Do not decide from a table. Spend fifteen minutes on one sport and one market you care about.

  1. Pick one upcoming game and one Pick6 stat or sportsbook market you know.
  2. Pull the same market from each provider and record the capture or update time each one states.
  3. Compare against what the DraftKings surface shows at that moment, by hand.
  4. Pull history for one line that you watched move.
  5. Note what happens to paused or removed rows, and read the rights language for your use case.

Is ParlayAPI cheaper?

At published list prices it offers far more credits per dollar. Credits and requests are different units, so compare using your own workload.
