DraftKings historical data: what exists
What history each DraftKings dataset really holds, when recording began, what is not available, and how to start your own archive today.
Editorial review: · Not a live coverage report
The short version
Recording began around 2026-11-03. Retained history is short, and it is not a complete opening-to-close archive. It does not contain seasons of past lines, and there is no public graded-results endpoint. If a page or tool implies more depth than that, trust the rows you can read. The API can show you what was recorded after collection began. It cannot give you past seasons of DraftKings lines.
| Dataset | History endpoint | What a row means | Not included |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pick6 | /api/v1/pick6/history | An observed offer change, with previous | Unchanged captures, live-stat ticks, settlement |
| Sportsbook | /api/v1/history | A retained observation or change of a mainline offer | Props outside native scopes, opening-to-close completeness |
| DFS | None. /api/v1/dfs/* read stored records | A captured record with observed_at | A change feed, every slate |
| Statistics | /api/v1/stats/* | A retained ESPN game snapshot | Full seasons, as-of corrections, DraftKings identities |
Pick6 change history
/api/v1/pick6/history records actual offer changes after an initial baseline. First captures establish the baseline, so an offer's first appearance is not a change. Each record has change_id and previous, so you can compare before and after.
curl --fail-with-body "https://draftkingsapi.com/api/v1/pick6/history?sport=NHL&after=0&limit=25" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $DRAFTKINGS_API_KEY"Continue with pagination.next_after as after and offset=0. Disappearance from a partial category is not settlement. Use the line movement guide for the full flow.
Sportsbook history
/api/v1/history returns retained records ordered by seq, with the offer nested under data. Filter by sport, event_id, market or offer_id. As of 2026-11-03, native sportsbook scopes cover New York NFL, NHL, college basketball and college football game lines and New York NHL Shots on Goal, points, assists, saves, goalscorers, power-play points and first-period shots. Read snapshots and streamed changes through the sportsbook endpoints. ESPN-attributed DraftKings moneyline, spread and total observations are also available across eight leagues. Current scope inventory is listed at /api/v1/sportsbook/scopes.
curl --fail-with-body "https://draftkingsapi.com/api/v1/history?sport=NBA&market=total&limit=25" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $DRAFTKINGS_API_KEY"Collection rotates events and is bounded, so an event can have few observations or none at the moment a price moved. Do not treat the first and last rows you see as the opening and closing lines.
DFS captures and statistics samples
DFS endpoints return stored records, each with observed_at and capture evidence. There is no DFS change feed, so if you need salary history, store captures yourself over time. Slates are selected rather than complete.
Independent ESPN statistics cover NBA, NFL and NHL as limited retained game samples, not full seasons. As of 2026-11-03 those samples were captured after the games were played, so they do not show what was known at game time.
A game from a prior season can be present and still have been captured recently. Read evidence.observed_at on the game next to starts_at. A valid season filter does not promise that the season is available, and empty matching pages return available: false.
What you cannot do today
Some common requests are outside what recorded data can support. It is better to plan around them now.
- Backtest over past seasons. Recorded lines do not reach back that far.
- Read closing lines as settled facts. Observations are not a complete opening-to-close record.
- Read graded results. There is no public grading endpoint.
- Reconstruct what was known at a past time from statistics samples that were captured later.
- Assume an absent row means a market did not exist. Coverage is selected and bounded.
Start your own archive now
History you record yourself is under your control and starts accruing today. The daily archive example saves bounded pages from each dataset into SQLite, keeps change cursors between runs and stops at a request budget you set.
export DRAFTKINGS_API_KEY=...
python3 daily-archive.py --db archive.sqlite --sports NBA,NFL,NHL --max-requests 60- Run it on a schedule you can afford. Free includes 500 requests/month at 20/minute; Developer is $49/month with 10,000 requests/month at 60/minute; Production is $149/month with 50,000 requests/month at 120/minute.
- Store
observed_atas returned and record your own read time beside it. - Let reruns be idempotent, so a retried job does not duplicate rows.
- If you need rights to republish the archive, resolve that separately. Technical access is not a redistribution license.

Questions
How far back does DraftKings historical data go here?
Recording began around 2026-11-03. Statistics samples include some earlier games, but those were captured later. Check the coverage report for what is retained now.
Can I download past seasons of Pick6 lines?
No. Those were not recorded by this service. Pick6 history holds changes observed since collection began.
Is sportsbook history a full opening-to-close record?
No. It holds retained observations from bounded collection, so moves between captures and uncollected events are absent.
Does history include results or grades?
No public grading endpoint exists. Statistics endpoints expose ESPN box scores, but game state is not bet or entry settlement.
